The 14U Livonia Storm captured the ASA Canton Fall Showdown championship held on October 17th & 18th at Victory Park in dramatic fashion. The Storm won all 6 games and defeated an excellent Vengeance team, twice, once in the pool play and once in the championship game, each time securing the victory in their final at bat. In pool play the Storm won the game on a two out delayed steal of home when the score was tied. In the championship game the Storm rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th. The Vengeance retook a 1 run lead in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th the Storm rallied with one out to load the bases in the bottom of the 7th and scored the tying and game winning runs scored on a double down the right field line to win the tournament championship. The Storm qualified for the ASA World Series the previous weekend by finishing runner-up at the Lady Irish Fall Tournament in Toledo, Ohio.
